The Beach Park Board of Education would like to honor our staff, students and community members who go the extra mile as learners and leaders. The award is for those who show community leadership by demonstrating outstanding qualities to improve a classroom, school or the community.

Learners are Leaders Award Recipients

2016-2017 School Year

10/2016 Tavion B - 5th Grade Student at Oak Crest - In recognition of his passion for learning advanced technology and sharing that passion with those around him. Abby Johnson - 5th Grade Teacher at Oak Crest - In recognition of the ability to find ways to nurture innovation and passion in her students. Dr. Essence O’Neal - Psychologist - In recognition of her outstanding ability to provide continuity to our schools during recent staffing changes. The amount of work done in a short period of time with a positive attitude was greatly appreciated!

12/2016 Melody Miller-Clegg - Community Member - In recognition of her continued generosity to the students of Beach Park School District 3.

1/2017 Jennifer Ruesch - Teacher at Newport School - In recognition of her dedication to learning new classroom strategies and recreating her own learning environment based on student’s needs.

Deputy Roman Buchberger - Deputy for Lake County Sheriff's Office - In recognition of his commitment to the students of Newport School by volunteering his time to build healthy relationships between students and Law Enforcement. Gail Dufresne - Teacher Assistant at Howe School - In recognition of her willingness to go above and beyond to assist with the Breakfast Program at Howe School during recent staff changes. Cindy Parry - Administrative Assistant at Howe School - In recognition of her willingness to go above and beyond to assist with the Breakfast Program at Howe School during recent staff changes. Cordtrel (CJ) Sanders - In recognition of his enthusiasm for learning, being a great friend and a great neighbor.   Thomas Tassi - In recognition of his excellent customer service and willingness to recycle our electronic recycling at no cost, allowing us to provide more resources for our students.
